Cultural Immersion

Cultural Immersion文化沉浸

Practice the tradition, with the people who keep it

Most of China's living culture happens in rooms travelers never enter: a courtyard studio, a family kitchen, a park at dawn. Our immersion experiences are small doors into those rooms — led by practitioners, not scripts. Tai chi and calligraphy sit here, because to China they are culture first.

Tai Chi & Baduanjin at Dawn太极 · 八段锦

1.5 hours, morning · Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou

Join the park regulars — not a tourist class — as a master takes you through the opening forms, then tea and sesame biscuits after.

Calligraphy in a Courtyard Studio书法

2.5 hours · Beijing, Shanghai

Grind your own ink and learn the eight strokes that build ten thousand characters, in a working hutong studio.

Dumplings with a Hutong Family包饺子

An evening · Beijing, Xi'an

Fold dumplings around a family table, argue about fillings, and eat the results with the people who live there.

Hanfu Portraiture汉服

Half day · Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou

Dress in historical Chinese dress with a stylist, then shoot among the architecture it belongs to — city wall, garden, temple.
